I. I think Alex was really shocked and surprised maybe he had to search words for his feelings.. he waited so long for this time and then Tom was there without say anything before- a really succeeded surprise!
II. I think I was shocked but it a little bit irritating- first the problem with the engine and then the cow- what a idea. But I think didn't call the police is the worst thing they could do! Why? What will happen with the cow and what will the farmer say? We didn't know.

First I didn't understand the question...
In my oppinion the relation between Alex and Tom won't be a family one and with distanz but both have a lot of questions and they will ask each other. What WOULD they talk about? WILL you mean.. okay .. As far as I'm concerned first Alex will ask his dad why he left him and his mother and didn't contact when he was in London...
What do you think, is the new family more important for Tom as Alex and his mom? Why?

To josis comment: The way I see it, the new family from Tom isn't more important as Alex and his mom for him, because Alex mum was his first wife and Alex his first child. He knows Alex longer than his other childs. Ok, maybe he doesn't show that, that Alex and his mum are more important than the other family. In my opinion he internally fells it, that Alex and his mom are the important persons for him.
